Admission at a glance

Beihang University, formerly known as Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, is a national university in Beijing built around aerospace, mechanical and computer engineering. International undergraduate admission runs through Beihang's International College, separately from the domestic gaokao route, and from the 2026/2027 cycle applicants must also sit the China Scholastic Competency Assessment before they can submit an application. Most bachelor's programmes are taught in Chinese, covering science, engineering, management, literature and law at 25,000 CNY a year, with biomedical engineering, visual communication design and painting priced at 30,000 CNY a year alongside the university's English taught programmes. Admission draws on the CSCA result together with secondary school transcripts, a language certificate, a medical examination and other supporting documents, rather than one fixed score cutoff. All students pay a mandatory 3,200 CNY insurance charge covering the full four years at registration. At graduate level Beihang has built one of the largest English taught catalogues among Chinese engineering universities, with 382 courses taught in English, including seven recognised by the Ministry of Education as brand courses, spread across its master's and doctoral programmes.
