Admission at a glance

Wuhan University is a national comprehensive university in Wuhan, Hubei province, known for its campus architecture and cherry blossoms as well as its research strength across sciences, engineering, law and medicine. Its International Students Education College runs a long application window for the main autumn intake, from around October of the preceding year through to June, alongside a smaller spring semester window for non-degree students each winter. Applicants to English medium programmes submit TOEFL iBT 80 or above, TOEFL Essentials 8 or above, or IELTS 6.0 or above, unless they are a native speaker or completed a prior degree taught in English; Chinese medium graduate applicants instead need HSK Level 4 with a score of at least 180. Required documents include a passport copy, high school or degree transcripts, the relevant language test or HSK report, financial certification showing at least 5,000 USD, and a physical examination completed within the previous six months. Tuition depends on both discipline and language of instruction: Chinese medium undergraduate tuition runs from 20,000 CNY a year for liberal arts to 30,000 CNY a year for medicine and stomatology, while English medium undergraduate programmes cost from 23,000 to 40,000 CNY a year depending on discipline. The non-refundable application fee is 800 CNY, equivalent to about 111 US dollars, due within seven days of submitting the online application.
