Admission at a glance

Beijing Institute of Technology is one of China's oldest engineering universities, administered by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and based in Haidian District, Beijing. International undergraduate admission runs through the Office of International Students (isc.bit.edu.cn), covering Chinese taught majors as well as eight programmes taught entirely in English: Computer Science and Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Science and Technology, Flight Vehicle Design and Engineering, International Economics and Trade, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Electronic Engineering and Software Engineering. Applicants must be non-Chinese passport holders aged 18 to 25, qualified for university admission in their home education system and in good health. The process runs through an online application, a document review stage, and a comprehensive interview before a pre-admission offer and a deposit confirm the place. Tuition is 23,000 CNY a year for Chinese taught programmes and 30,000 CNY a year for the English taught track. BIT also awards a Global Excellence Scholarship to outstanding undergraduate applicants, covering full tuition, free dormitory accommodation and a monthly stipend for all four years of study.
