Admission at a glance

Dublin City University is a public university on Dublin's northside with particular strength in business, engineering, computing and communications. Non-EU applicants apply directly through the DCU international student application portal and pay a EUR 50 application fee at submission, plus a EUR 500 deposit once an offer is accepted. Applications for September entry close on 1 July, though DCU also runs a priority round with a 15 February deadline and continues to take applications after that on a rolling basis until places are filled, so applying earlier improves the chance of a place and leaves more time for a study visa. Non-EU undergraduate tuition for 2026-27 runs from about EUR 15,900 a year for programmes such as Financial Mathematics and Environmental Science and Technology to EUR 23,000 for the nursing programmes, and DCU automatically considers every non-EU undergraduate applicant for a merit scholarship worth up to EUR 5,000 off the first year's fee, with some faculties such as Engineering and Computing offering this to all applicants. Applicants whose first language is not English must reach a minimum of IELTS 6.5 overall with no component below 6.0, or an equivalent score in TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic or Duolingo.
