RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences, founded as the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, is Ireland's dedicated medical and health sciences university and operates as a not-for-profit institution. Its flagship undergraduate programme is the direct-entry Bachelor of Medicine, and most non-EU applicants outside the United States, Canada and a defined set of countries in the Middle East, Asia and Africa apply directly to RCSI; non-EU applicants living in the United States and Canada apply instead through Atlantic Bridge, which charges its own USD 75 fee for applications by 15 November. RCSI's own non-EU application window for direct applicants runs from 1 November to 15 January in the year of entry, and applicants must also register for and sit the Casper situational judgement test, which carries a separate fee, as part of the admissions process. The application fee for direct non-EU applicants is EUR 75, payable by card. Non-EU tuition for undergraduate medicine is EUR 62,000 a year for the 2027/28 academic year, among the highest medical tuition fees in Ireland, and RCSI states this fee typically rises by around 2 percent a year. Applicants whose first language is not English, and who were not taught entirely in English, must present an IELTS score of 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0.

Strong performance in a recognised secondary school qualification with science subjects, normally including biology, chemistry or physics, plus the Casper situational judgement test for non-EU applicants and, depending on route, an admissions test or interview. Non-EU applicants in the United States and Canada apply through Atlantic Bridge rather than directly.
