Dublin City University and Technological University Dublin both sit in Dublin but price tuition very differently. DCU, founded in 1980 and known for business, engineering and communications, charges non-EU undergraduate tuition of about EUR 15,900 to 23,000 a year for 2026-27, asks for IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 92, and sets a closing date of 1 July for non-EU applicants. TU Dublin, Ireland's largest technological university, formed from the merger of Dublin's three former institutes of technology, charges considerably less for its Level 6 and 7 undergraduate programmes, EUR 11,650 to 12,500 a year, and asks for a lower IELTS 6.0; its Level 8 honours degree fees are published in a separate international brochure not summarised here. A student comparing sticker price alone will find TU Dublin's Level 6 and 7 range well below DCU's, though that comparison does not hold once TU Dublin's separate Level 8 fees are checked. DCU's TOEFL floor of 92 is notably higher than any figure given for TU Dublin. Check TU Dublin's own international brochure for Level 8 honours degree fees before comparing costs directly against DCU.
