Admission at a glance

The University of Twente (UT) teaches bachelor's and master's programmes concentrated in engineering, computer science, behavioural sciences and public administration, from a single campus in Enschede. Non-EU/EEA institutional bachelor's tuition for 2026-2027 is EUR 12,300 a year for lower-rate programmes and EUR 16,400 a year for higher-rate programmes, following an 11 percent inflation adjustment plus a one-off 15 percent increase for that year; the statutory rate for eligible EEA students is EUR 2,694, except at University College Twente. All applicants holding a non-Dutch educational degree pay a EUR 100 application fee.

English proficiency is checked against IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with at least 5.5 per section, or TOEFL iBT 80 overall with at least 18 per section under the scale used before January 2026; UT does not accept IELTS Online, Indicator, One Skill Retake or General Training, or TOEFL MyBest scores.

UT publishes exact application deadlines through an online deadlines tool rather than one static date, since the deadline that applies depends on nationality and programme; applicants can apply from October onwards for the September intake, and UT offers no February intake. Bachelor's programmes with a numerus fixus, including Psychology (English track, 250 places) and Technical Medicine (150 places), have a firm 15 January deadline for all applicants. Non-EEA master's applications for the September 2027 intake close 1 May 2027.
