Admission at a glance
Pennsylvania State University's main campus in University Park runs first year admission on an early action and rolling basis rather than a fixed regular decision date. Applicants who submit by November 1 get their decision earliest; after that, Penn State continues to review applications as they arrive until the class fills, and the university states directly that admission becomes more competitive over time, especially for University Park.
International applicants use the same application and the same admission timeline as domestic applicants, but pay a higher, nonrefundable application fee of 75 dollars against the domestic fee of 65 dollars. Penn State asks for official secondary school records and reviews English proficiency scores against minimums set by the University System.
Nonresident tuition for a new undergraduate at University Park was set at 22,287 dollars a semester for 2026 to 2027, a four percent increase on the prior year, for 44,574 dollars in base tuition across two semesters. That figure covers tuition only; mandatory fees, health insurance, and room and board are billed separately and are not included in the base tuition figure quoted here. Penn State did not have an acceptance rate confirmed on an official page during this research pass.
