Admission at a glance

Imperial takes undergraduate applications through UCAS on the standard national calendar: 15 October 2026, 18:00 UK time, for its MBBS Medicine and Graduate Entry Medicine courses, and 13 January 2027, 18:00 UK time, for equal consideration on every other course. Depending on subject, applicants may need to sit an admissions test: the UCAT for standard entry Medicine, or the Engineering and Science Admissions Test (ESAT) or Test of Mathematics for University Admission (TMUA) for some mathematics, science and engineering courses, each with its own registration and sitting windows in the months before the UCAS deadline.

Imperial's overseas (international) tuition fee for 2026-27 entry is set by department rather than as one university-wide figure: Mathematics is the lowest confirmed rate at GBP 42,700 a year, Chemistry, Physics, Life Sciences and Computing sit at GBP 45,500, and Medicine (MBBS) is the highest at GBP 58,600 a year, charged at the same rate for both the non-clinical and clinical years of the six year course. English language ability is shown through IELTS, TOEFL, PTE Academic or the Duolingo English Test, at a Higher or Standard level depending on the specific course; most competitive courses ask for the Higher level, which is IELTS 7.0 overall with a minimum of 6.5 in each of listening, reading, writing and speaking, and test results must be less than two years old at the course start date.
