Admission at a glance

Atlantic Technological University was formed in 2022 from the merger of Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology, Institute of Technology Sligo and Letterkenny Institute of Technology, and now spans campuses across the west and northwest of Ireland. Non-EU undergraduate tuition is a flat EUR 12,000 a year and undergraduate applications carry no fee. For September 2027 entry, ATU has already published its non-EU closing dates: applicants who need an entry visa must apply by 1 May 2027, while non-EU applicants who do not need a visa have until 31 July 2027. ATU also runs a January intake for a smaller number of non-EU masters courses, with earlier deadlines of 2 October 2026 for visa-required applicants and 10 December 2026 for non-visa-required applicants. Applications are made through ATU's international student application portal. Applicants whose first language is not English must reach a general undergraduate minimum of IELTS 5.5, TOEFL iBT 70, PTE Academic 51 or Duolingo 90; postgraduate courses ask for a higher IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 80, PTE Academic 55 or Duolingo 100, with certificates no more than two years old at the course start date.
