The University of Texas at Austin reviews international first year applications on the same calendar as domestic applicants, with an early action deadline of October 15 and a regular decision deadline of December 1, both earlier than many other large public universities in this list. Supplemental materials, including standardized test scores if submitted, are due about a week after each application deadline.

International applicants pay a 90 dollar nonrecoverable application fee, and UT Austin states plainly that fee waivers are not available to international students. Nonresident tuition, which international undergraduates pay, is a flat rate that depends on the college or school a student enrolls in rather than a single university wide figure, ranging from about 42,500 dollars to about 51,000 dollars a year for 2026 to 2027 according to the university's own cost of attendance estimate.

Applicants whose native language is not English submit a TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo English Test score, unless exempt through nationality or through several years of secondary schooling in the United States or another qualifying country. UT Austin's own cost of attendance page also estimates total costs, including tuition, housing, food, books and personal expenses, in a range of roughly 64,000 to 73,000 dollars for the year depending on the program.
