The University of Pittsburgh's Pittsburgh campus reviews first-year applications on a rolling basis, so there is no single fixed deadline the way there is at many peer universities. The date that matters most to applicants is December 1: students who submit a complete application and all required materials by that date are automatically considered for Pitt's academic scholarships, which make up a meaningful share of the aid international students can receive since they are not eligible for need-based federal or state aid. Pitt places international applicants into bands by English test score: those scoring 100 or higher on the TOEFL iBT, or an equivalent IELTS or Duolingo score, are strongly positioned for the Pittsburgh campus itself, scores from 90 to 99 receive strong consideration alongside the rest of the file, and scores from 80 to 89 are typically directed toward one of Pitt's regional campuses at Bradford, Greensburg or Johnstown rather than Pittsburgh. Because rolling admission rewards early completion, and because the scholarship priority date is fixed even though the general deadline is not, international applicants aiming for the Pittsburgh campus should treat December 1 as their real target date.
