Requirements
Bachelor
UT Austin reviews secondary school transcripts, coursework rigor and, for many programs, an application essay, as part of a holistic review. International applicants whose native language is not English submit a TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo English Test score unless exempt.
Documents
The ApplyTexas or Coalition Application, official secondary school transcripts (evaluated by course credential where required), an English proficiency score where required, and, after admission, financial documentation so the university can issue the Form I-20 for the F-1 visa.
How to apply
- Apply through ApplyTexas or the Coalition Application by the early action or regular decision deadline.
- Submit official secondary school transcripts and any required essays.
- Submit an English proficiency score by the supplemental materials deadline if required.
- Pay the 90 dollar application fee; fee waivers are not available to international applicants.
- After admission, submit financial documentation so UT Austin can issue the I-20.
English test waiver
UT Austin does not accept institutional TOEFL (ITP) scores, TOEFL Essentials scores or IELTS General Training. Applicants from certain countries, or who complete at least three years of secondary school in the United States or another qualifying English speaking country, are exempt from the requirement.
