The Discovery Program's own published rate is an admission fee of JPY 282,000 and annual tuition of JPY 642,960, split into two instalments of JPY 321,480. The university states that tuition reductions bring most international students in the programme down to the same JPY 535,800 a year that Japanese students pay, and that the first payment is not due until after arrival on campus. Students with an exceptional academic record may also qualify for a full tuition waiver. The application fee is JPY 17,000, with waivers available for applicants affected by a declared disaster.
