Admission at a glance
Mount Allison University is a public, primarily undergraduate university in Sackville, New Brunswick, known for a small student body and a liberal arts and science focus. Admission opens in October and runs on a rolling basis rather than a single fixed deadline, though applicants who want to be considered for Mount Allison's scholarships and bursaries must submit their application for admission, their scholarship application and all required documents by 1 March. Admission is based on the applicant's secondary school record in the courses required for the chosen program, and English proficiency is required unless exempt, through a recognized test such as IELTS, TOEFL, PTE Academic, CAEL, Cambridge English or the Duolingo English Test. Mount Allison, like several smaller Atlantic Canadian universities, charges international undergraduates a single flat annual tuition rate for a full course load rather than a different rate for each faculty, which makes the cost of a degree predictable regardless of program. The university charges international applicants a higher non-refundable application fee than domestic Canadian applicants. Bachelor of Music applicants face an earlier 1 February deadline and Fine Arts applicants, who submit a portfolio, face a 15 February deadline, both ahead of the general 1 March scholarship deadline; admitted students confirm their place with a registration deposit due by 1 May.
