Admission at a glance

Wageningen University & Research (WUR) specialises in life sciences, agriculture, food, environment and related social sciences, teaching bachelor's and master's programmes taught in English. WUR charges one non-EU institutional bachelor's rate rather than a tiered range: about EUR 18,300 a year for 2026-2027, up from EUR 17,800 in 2025-2026, against a statutory rate of EUR 2,694 for eligible European students. Students who pay tuition in instalments are charged a separate EUR 24 administration fee, but the university's own admission and cost pages do not mention any charge for submitting a bachelor's application itself.

English proficiency is checked against IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with at least 6.0 in speaking, TOEFL iBT 80 overall with at least 20 in speaking, or Pearson PTE Academic 61 overall with at least 56 in speaking; test results must be no more than 24 months old. Applicants who completed secondary education in a small set of English-speaking countries are exempt.

For the bachelor's cycle that started in September 2026, WUR's international applicants registered in Studielink by 15 April and submitted documents in the Osiris application portal by 1 May; the specialist Animal Sciences bachelor's runs as a numerus fixus programme with an earlier 15 January deadline. Non-EU/non-EFTA nationals receive a tuition invoice after conditional admission, payable by 1 July.

Requirements

Bachelor

A secondary qualification recognised as giving access to university-level study, with the mathematics and science prerequisites the chosen programme sets. English-taught programmes require IELTS Academic 6.0, TOEFL iBT 80 or Pearson PTE Academic 61, unless exempt. Animal Sciences runs a numerus fixus selection procedure with a fixed number of places.

Master

A relevant bachelor's degree meeting the specific master's programme's own grade and subject prerequisites.
