Requirements
Bachelor's degree
A-levels, the International Baccalaureate or another equivalent qualification at the level the specific course states, and English language ability at the level the course sets, typically between IELTS 6.0 and 7.0 overall depending on subject.
Documents
UCAS application and personal statement, academic reference, transcripts and predicted or achieved grades, English language test certificate at the level the course states, passport for identity and later for the Student visa.
How to apply
- Register with UCAS and choose Manchester as one of up to five choices.
- Check the specific course's own entry requirements and English language level.
- Submit the UCAS application by 18:00 UK time on 15 October 2026 for Medicine and Dentistry, or by 18:00 UK time on 13 January 2027 for every other course, for 2027 entry.
- Receive a decision through UCAS Track; accept a firm and, where eligible, an insurance choice.
- Meet the offer conditions, including final grades and the stated English language level.
- Apply for the Student visa once the place is confirmed unconditionally.
English test waiver
Manchester states requirements usually fall between IELTS 6.0 and 7.0 overall (or 5.5 for some foundation courses) and are set individually on each course page; examples seen directly include Biosciences at 6.5 overall with 6.5 in each element, Alliance Manchester Business School at 6.5 overall with no element below 6.0, and Electrical and Electronic Engineering at 7.0 overall including 7.0 in writing.
