Requirements
Bachelor's degree
Scottish Highers, A-levels, the International Baccalaureate or another equivalent qualification at the level the specific programme states, and English language ability of IELTS 6.5 overall with no skill below 6.0, unless the specific programme sets a different level.
Documents
UCAS application and personal statement, academic reference, transcripts and predicted or achieved grades, English language test certificate taken within the university's stated validity period, passport for identity and later for the Student visa.
How to apply
- Register with UCAS and choose Glasgow as one of up to five choices.
- Check the specific programme's entry requirements and English language level.
- Submit the UCAS application by 18:00 UK time on 15 October 2026 for Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine, or by 18:00 UK time on 13 January 2027 for every other course, for 2027 entry.
- Receive a decision through UCAS Track; accept a firm and, where eligible, an insurance choice.
- Meet the offer conditions, including final grades and the stated English language level.
- Apply for the Student visa once the place is confirmed unconditionally.
English test waiver
6.5 overall with no individual skill below 6.0 is Glasgow's requirement across most undergraduate programmes seen directly in this research (for example Education, English Language & Linguistics). Some specific routes, such as the Access Programme or Study Abroad, use a lower level (6.0/5.5); check the specific programme.
