Requirements
Bachelor
A Leaving Certificate equivalent or recognised secondary school qualification meeting the entry points and subject requirements of the chosen course. Non-EU applicants submit transcripts, a reference and, for some courses, a personal statement or portfolio.
Master
An undergraduate honours degree in a relevant field, normally a 2.1 or equivalent GPA. Some programmes ask for a personal statement, references or relevant work experience.
Documents
Academic transcripts and certificates, proof of English language proficiency, a copy of your passport, a personal statement for some courses, and references where the course requires them. Non-EU undergraduate applicants pay a EUR 55 fee per course applied for.
How to apply
- Check the entry requirements for your course on the Trinity course page.
- Apply online through the Trinity non-EU application portal from 1 November, paying the EUR 55 fee per course.
- Submit transcripts, English test results and any course-specific documents.
- Receive a decision; priority applications submitted by 1 February for most courses hear back by 1 April.
- Accept the offer, pay the deposit, and apply for your Irish study visa if needed.
English test waiver
Band B applies to most undergraduate and postgraduate courses: IELTS 6.5 overall with 6.0 in each band, TOEFL iBT 90 overall with 21 in each section for tests taken before January 2026 (TOEFL moved to a 4.5 overall, 4.0 per section scale for tests taken from January 2026), PTE Academic 69 overall with 59 in each section, or Duolingo 120 overall with 100 in each subscore. Some courses set higher requirements; applicants can also complete Trinity's own pre-sessional English programme to meet a conditional offer.
