Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin are Ireland's two most recognised universities, both in Dublin, with different fee structures. Trinity, founded in 1592, is Ireland's oldest university, and its non-EU undergraduate fees range from about EUR 15,060 to 60,000 a year depending on programme, with medicine and dentistry at the top of the scale, a wide spread from a low entry point. UCD, founded in 1854 and Ireland's largest university based on a single Belfield campus, charges a narrower range, from about EUR 25,800 to 39,900 a year, and states plainly that applications open on 1 October for entry the following September, a specific date not given for Trinity here. Both ask for IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 90, an identical English floor. Trinity's wider range means its cheapest programmes cost noticeably less than UCD's cheapest, while UCD's narrower band may be easier to budget for regardless of subject. Check Trinity's own page for its current application opening date and the fee attached to the specific programme applied to.
