International freshman applicants must complete the application (ApplyTexas or Coalition Application) by December 1 for fall entry, the same deadline that applies to domestic applicants. Texas A&M reviews the self-reported academic record, required essays and, for international applicants, an English proficiency score. Texas A&M does not require SAT or ACT scores from international applicants who meet the English proficiency requirement through an accepted test.
Documents
- Completed ApplyTexas or Coalition Application
- Self-reported Transcript and Academic Record System (STARS) entry, or official transcripts for GED holders
- Application essays
- English proficiency test score (TOEFL iBT, IELTS Academic or TOEFL Essentials), sent electronically from the testing agency
- Financial certification and passport copy, requested after admission for the I-20
How to apply
- Submit the application through ApplyTexas or the Coalition Application by December 1 for fall entry.
- Complete the Self-reported Transcript and Academic Record System (STARS) with coursework and grades.
- Take an accepted English test at least eight weeks before the deadline and have scores sent electronically to Texas A&M (TOEFL code 6003).
- Pay the USD 90 international application fee.
- After admission, submit financial certification and required documents to receive the I-20 and apply for an F-1 visa.
