The nominal undergraduate tuition is KRW 3,433,000 a semester, though almost no student pays it in full.

KAIST's own tuition, before scholarship, is KRW 3,433,000 a semester for undergraduates and KRW 9,559,000 a semester for graduate students (2026 rates, unchanged from the previous year), plus a one-time admission fee and small student-association and insurance fees. In practice almost no international student pays this out of pocket: the KAIST Undergraduate Scholarship covers tuition for up to eight semesters plus a stipend and insurance for nearly every admitted international undergraduate, and about 94% of international master's and PhD students receive a comparable full-tuition-and-stipend package. The application fee is KRW 80,000 (USD 80 by international transfer), non-refundable.
