Hiroshima University is a national research university in Higashihiroshima and one of Japan's larger former imperial-era universities. Its Department of Integrated Global Studies (IGS), launched alongside a new School of Informatics and Data Science, is a small English-taught undergraduate programme admitting about 20 students a year through four selection systems, for an April-only start.

Hiroshima University charges the standard national rate to every student regardless of nationality: JPY 535,800 a year in tuition, a JPY 282,000 admission (enrollment) fee, and a non-refundable entrance examination fee of JPY 17,000 for undergraduate applicants and JPY 30,000 for graduate applicants.
