Requirements

Bachelor

Georgia Tech reviews secondary school transcripts, course rigor and, where applicable, standardized test scores. International applicants must demonstrate English proficiency through a University System of Georgia approved method such as TOEFL, IELTS or PTE Academic; the Duolingo English Test is welcomed as a supplementary document but does not by itself satisfy the requirement.

Documents

The Common Application, official secondary school transcripts, an English proficiency score meeting the University System of Georgia's approved methods, and, after admission, financial documentation so Georgia Tech can issue the Form I-20 for the F-1 visa.

How to apply

  1. Apply through the Common Application, choosing Early Action 2 if applying from outside Georgia, including internationally, or Regular Decision.
  2. Submit official secondary school transcripts and self reported test scores.
  3. Submit an English proficiency score meeting the University System of Georgia's approved methods.
  4. Pay the 85 dollar international application fee.
  5. After admission, submit financial documentation so Georgia Tech can issue the I-20.

English test waiver

Georgia Tech's own first year admission pages describe English proficiency as demonstrated through USG (University System of Georgia) approved methods without stating a Georgia Tech specific minimum higher than the system floor recorded here (TOEFL 69 on the old 0 to 120 scale, 3.5 on the redesigned scale from January 21, 2026; IELTS 6; PTE Academic 53), so this record uses that system wide minimum. Georgia Tech's admissions page separately says it welcomes the Duolingo English Test as a supplementary, not a qualifying, document, so duolingo_min is left null rather than treated as a minimum.
