Ajou University Admission 2027: Deadlines, Fees, Requirements

Ajou University is a university in Suwon, Gyeonggi province, founded with strong industry partnerships, notably with Samsung for its semiconductor engineering track. International undergraduates whose parents both hold non-Korean nationality apply into departments spanning Engineering, IT and Computing, Natural Sciences, Business Administration and Humanities and Social Sciences; most majors sit on a Korean-taught track requiring TOPIK level 3 or above (or an equivalent Korean-language institute completion, or a pass on Ajou's own Korean placement exam), while an International Business English Track (transfer applicants only) and a Global IT track for Chinese transfer applicants are taught substantially or fully in English.

For its most recently confirmed cycle, Spring 2026, Ajou ran combined online application and document submission from 29 September to 21 November 2025, with the acceptance notice on 2 January 2026 and tuition payment in January and February 2026; the Spring 2027 and Fall 2027 exact dates had not been published at the time of this review, though a 2026 Fall Undergraduate Admission Guide for International Students exists, confirming Ajou also runs a September intake. Where a certified English score is required instead of TOPIK, Ajou's general standard is TOEFL iBT 71 or IELTS 5.5 or above; the International Business English Track for transfer applicants specifically asks for TOEFL iBT 80 or IELTS 6.5 or above.

Tuition, published directly by department on Ajou's own site, runs from KRW 3,748,000 a semester in Business Administration, Humanities and Social Sciences to KRW 5,143,000 in the Global IT Chinese transfer track, with Engineering, IT, Computing and Informatics at KRW 4,916,000 and Natural Sciences at KRW 4,349,000. The application fee is KRW 150,000.

Requirements

Bachelor

Both the applicant and the applicant's parents must hold non-Korean nationality, and the applicant must have completed or be expected to complete high school or an equivalent qualification recognised by their home country. Korean-track applicants need TOPIK level 3 or above (or an equivalent Korean-language institute completion, or a pass on Ajou's own Korean exam); where English is accepted instead, the general standard is TOEFL iBT 71 or IELTS 5.5, rising to TOEFL iBT 80 or IELTS 6.5 for transfer applicants to the International Business English Track.
