Requirements
Bachelor
Admission is based on the applicant's secondary school record in the courses required for the chosen program; specific prerequisites and competitive averages vary by program. There is no single published minimum average across all programs.
Graduate
Set by the individual graduate program; applicants should confirm requirements, references and, for research programs, a supervisor, on the specific program's page.
Documents
Official transcripts in required prerequisite courses; official language test results if English is not the applicant's first language, unless exempt; a copy of the passport information page for the later study permit application.
How to apply
- Confirm your program's prerequisite courses and English test minimum.
- Apply online directly to Acadia and pay the non-refundable application fee.
- Arrange transcripts and English test scores, if required, to reach the university.
- Submit all supporting documents by 1 March if you want to be considered for entrance scholarships and bursaries.
- Accept an offer of admission.
- Apply for a study permit.
English test waiver
Applicants are exempt if they studied in an English medium of instruction for three years. An applicant who does not meet the English requirement but is otherwise academically admissible can receive an offer of admission conditional on completing Acadia's English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program first. TOEFL iBT scores from tests taken on or after 21 January 2026 use a new scale, with a minimum of 4.5 overall.
