Schwarzman Scholars 2026: Deadline, Eligibility, Benefits

Schwarzman Scholars is a fully funded, one year master's program in Global Affairs at Schwarzman College on the campus of Tsinghua University in Beijing, built to give rising leaders from around the world direct experience of China alongside classmates from dozens of countries. Candidates must be at least 18 but not yet 29 years old as of 1 August of their enrollment year, and must complete all undergraduate degree requirements before that date. English proficiency is required, either as a native speaker, through two or more years of English-medium study, or through a standardized test score. Non-Chinese applicants with regular passports from any other country are eligible; applicants born in China or with Chinese parents face additional nationality documentation requirements set out on the program's eligibility page. The scholarship covers full tuition and fees, accommodation and meals at Schwarzman College, transportation to and from Beijing at the start and end of the academic year, funding for in-country study tours that are part of the curriculum, required course books and supplies, and a laptop computer for academic use. The U.S./Global application window for the class entering in August 2027 ran from 8 April 2026 to 9 September 2026 at 3pm Eastern time; Chinese passport holders apply on a separate, later schedule set by the program.
