Requirements

Bachelor

Admission is based on Grade 12 or equivalent grades in required subjects; Engineering and Applied Science, Commerce, Health Sciences and Nursing are more competitive and, in some cases, ask for supplementary information beyond grades. There is no single published minimum average across all programs.

Graduate

Set by the individual department; applicants should confirm requirements, references and, for research programs, a supervisor, on the specific program's page.

Documents

Official transcripts in required Grade 12 or equivalent subjects; English proficiency test results (IELTS, CAEL, PTE Academic or another accepted test) unless exempt; any supplementary information a specific program requests.

How to apply

  1. Confirm your program's required subjects and, where relevant, any supplementary application component.
  2. Apply through OUAC and pay the application fee.
  3. Arrange transcripts and English test scores to reach Queen's.
  4. Monitor your application and respond to document requests through Queen's own applicant portal.
  5. Accept an offer of admission once received.
  6. Apply for a study permit.

English test waiver

Applicants who have lived in a country where English is the primary language, or who studied full time in English for the three years immediately before starting at Queen's, are not required to submit a test score. Queen's also runs QBridge, an English language bridging pathway for otherwise admissible applicants who have not yet met the required level.
