Requirements
Bachelor
Applicants must hold non-Korean nationality (dual citizenship including Korean nationality is not eligible) and must have completed, or be expected to complete, secondary education equivalent to Korean high school; GED, home schooling and similar equivalency routes are not accepted. English Track and Department of International Studies applicants need TOEFL iBT 71, IELTS 5.5 or TEPS 600 or above; Korean Track applicants need a TOPIK score, generally level 3 or higher.
Master's and PhD
Kyung Hee's Graduate School and its specialised graduate schools, including the Graduate School of International Studies, publish their own department-level deadlines and language requirements rather than one university-wide general deadline.
Documents
Application form, personal statement, secondary school transcripts and a graduation certificate (apostilled or consular-authenticated for schools outside Korea, with additional CHSI documents for Chinese applicants), proof of the applicant's and parents' nationality, a language proficiency document, and, for the College of Fine Arts and the Department of Postmodern Music, a video portfolio or recorded practical test submitted by USB or file upload.
How to apply
- Choose a Korean Track major or, if eligible, the English Track or Department of International Studies.
- Apply online within Kyung Hee's published window and pay the KRW 85,000 application fee.
- Submit required documents, and for Fine Arts, Postmodern Music or transfer applicants in specific fields, a video portfolio or recorded practical test, by the stated deadline.
- Attend any interview your department schedules.
- Check the admission result and, if awarded one of Kyung Hee's Admission Scholarships, confirm its terms, since continuing several of them depends on GPA and credit-load conditions in later semesters.
- Pay tuition and, if you hold a D-4 visa nearing expiry during the process, register for an additional Korean-language course or confirm you meet one of the stated exceptions before it lapses.
English test waiver
Kyung Hee's English Track and Department of International Studies ask for TOEFL iBT 71 (CBT 197, PBT 530), IELTS 5.5, or TEPS 600 or above; its Korean Track majors instead ask for a TOPIK score, generally level 3 or above, with English Track applicants not eligible for one of the university's own admission scholarships that is reserved for a stated TOPIK level.
