Requirements
Bachelor
A secondary qualification recognised as giving access to university-level study, meeting the chosen programme's own subject prerequisites. English-taught programmes require at least IELTS Academic 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 80, with several faculties setting a higher floor; numerus fixus programmes add a selection procedure alongside academic requirements.
Master
A relevant bachelor's degree meeting the specific master's or pre-master's programme's own grade and subject requirements.
Documents
Diploma and transcript of secondary (and, where relevant, higher) education, certified translation if not in Dutch or English, a passport copy, and an English test certificate from a test centre, no more than two years old, unless exempt. Numerus fixus applicants also submit any motivation statement or additional material the specific programme requires.
How to apply
- Register in Studielink for your chosen bachelor's or master's programme.
- Pay the EUR 100 application fee if you hold a non-Dutch diploma.
- Complete the full application in the EUR Admissions Portal, uploading your diploma, transcript and English test result before the deadline (15 January for numerus fixus programmes, 1 April for other non-EEA bachelor's applicants).
- If your programme uses selection, complete any additional numerus fixus steps required.
- If admitted and from outside the EU/EEA, apply for a residence permit for study with EUR as your recognised sponsor.
- Pay the tuition invoice and arrange housing and health insurance before enrolling.
English test waiver
Applicants with a first or second degree taught fully in English do not need to submit a TOEFL or IELTS report, though Erasmus reserves the right to request one. Requirements are set per programme and run up to IELTS 7.0 or TOEFL iBT 100 for some faculties; only test-centre results are accepted, not online or home-edition versions.
