Requirements

Bachelor

The Institute for the Liberal Arts (ILA) admits applicants who show strong academic aptitude test results, typically an IB score of 32 or above, SAT 1300 or above, ACT 25 or above, or three GCE A-levels, together with IELTS Academic 6.5, an equivalent TOEFL iBT score, or Duolingo English Test 120. Native English speakers and applicants with 12 or more years of English-medium education do not need to submit a test score. All 2027 entry applications go through ILA's online system with a required video interview.

How to apply

  1. Confirm the April or September 2027 entry round and its application window.
  2. Prepare transcripts, aptitude test results and an English test score, unless exempt.
  3. Submit the online application through the ILA system.
  4. Record and submit the required video interview within the given timeframe.
  5. Pay the JPY 200,000 admission fee and first semester's tuition and facilities fee after an offer to confirm your place.

English test waiver
