Requirements
Bachelor
Admission is based on the applicant's secondary school record, or prior post-secondary record for transfer applicants; specific prerequisite courses and minimum grades vary by faculty and program, and some Fine Arts programs require a portfolio or audition. There is no single published minimum average across all programs.
Graduate
Set by the individual department or school; applicants should confirm requirements, references and, for research programs, a supervisor, on the specific program's page.
Documents
Official transcripts from secondary school and any prior post-secondary study; English proficiency test results unless exempt; a portfolio, audition or letter of intent for programs that require one, mainly in Fine Arts; a copy of the passport information page for the later study permit application.
How to apply
- Confirm your program's prerequisites and whether it requires a portfolio, audition or letter of intent.
- Apply online through Concordia's application portal and pay the non-refundable application fee.
- Arrange transcripts and English test scores, unless exempt, to reach Concordia.
- Submit any required portfolio, audition material or letter of intent by the program's own deadline.
- Track your application and respond to document requests through Concordia's applicant portal.
- Accept an offer of admission and apply for a study permit.
English test waiver
Applicants are exempt if they completed the Quebec Diplome d'etudes secondaires (Secondary 5) and a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC), or at least three full years of study in a secondary or post-secondary institution where the sole language of instruction was English. The Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science accepts a lower TOEFL iBT score (85 instead of 90, both with no part below 20) than other faculties; the IELTS minimum of 6.5 overall applies across faculties.
