Scholarships to Study in Ireland (2027)

The main government-funded route for non-EU postgraduate students is the Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship (GOI-IES), which funds around 60 scholarships a year for study at master's or PhD level (NFQ level 9 or 10). Each award combines a EUR 10,000 stipend with a full tuition fee waiver from the host university for the scholarship year, and is administered by the Higher Education Authority in partnership with Irish higher education institutions. Most universities also run their own scholarships for non-EU applicants, typically partial tuition reductions of roughly EUR 1,000 to EUR 5,000 awarded automatically or on the basis of academic merit at the time of application; check each university's own scholarships page for current schemes and eligibility.
