Rhodes Scholarship 2026: Deadline, Eligibility, Benefits

The Rhodes Scholarship funds postgraduate study at the University of Oxford, in almost any full-time subject, for outstanding young people selected through one of the Rhodes Trust's country or regional constituencies rather than through one worldwide competition. Applicants must apply through the constituency that matches their citizenship, and each constituency sets its own age limit, deadline and selection process, mostly between July and October each year for entry the following October. Established constituencies named on the official site include the United States, Canada, Southern Africa, India, Australia, Bermuda, China, the Commonwealth Caribbean, East Africa, Germany, Hong Kong, Israel, Jamaica, Kenya, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine, the UAE, West Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The Rhodes Trust has suspended its Global Constituency, which had previously let applicants from countries without their own constituency apply, so nationals of countries outside the current list, including Bangladesh, do not currently have a Rhodes route unless they qualify through another connection such as long residence in an eligible constituency. The scholarship pays Oxford course fees, a stipend of GBP 20,400 a year (GBP 1,700 a month) at the 2025-26 rate, the Oxford application fee, visa and health surcharge costs, two economy flights to and from the UK, and a settling-in allowance, for up to three years depending on the course chosen.
